Ethics and Responsibility in Using AI for Student Retention

  4. Human oversight – AI should support—not replace—the judgment of educators, advisors, and counselors.

  5. Student well-being first – All uses of AI must prioritize student success, dignity, and inclusion over institutional efficiency.

Ethical AI is not only about good intentions—it’s about embedding trust into everyday practice. That includes clear policies, open dialogue with students, and constant evaluation of both outcomes and unintended effects.
