Colombia, September 28, 2021 - Universidad del Rosario, a reference in Colombia and Latin America for its academic offerings and research excellence, is working together with Analytikus to implement an artificial intelligence (AI)-based analysis to help prescribe courses taking into account the student's historical performance, the requirements of the labor market and the gap in the development of competencies.
Given the wide academic offer, it is necessary for universities to take into account their quality processes in terms of registration and accreditation of their academic programs so that they can offer a better student experience, as well as a system for monitoring learning and competencies to be developed according to the graduation profile and the labor market.
"The Career Planner solution is an Artificial Intelligence engine that allows to create an individualized plan for each student according to their professional goals aligned to the labor market demand. The process begins with the understanding of each student's professional goals and objectives and previous academic history to develop trajectories that are aligned with the graduation profile demanded by the labor market. We seek to reduce competency gaps by taking into account what skills the student should develop or continue to strengthen for their education" commented Miguel Molina-Cosculluela, founder of Analytikus.
The use case developed by Analytikus and co-created with Universidad del Rosario, is based on an academic guide, a subject catalog that helps students to know the course requirements, which courses they must take for a degree mention, prescribing schedules according to their curriculum, maximizing students' time and helping to reduce the dispersion of cycles according to faculty, professors and groups. This pre-design of schedules supports the enrollment process, providing students with a catalog of information prior to the enrollment process.
"At Universidad del Rosario we seek to train highly qualified professionals with social commitment who are able to exploit their potential in the world of work, feeling committed and passionate about their vocation. Taking into account their interests in order to channel their graduation profile. Taking into account their academic history, capabilities, and skills aligned with our curricular plans to ensure that they graduate with a profile that differentiates them and makes them stand out in the job market" mentioned Francisco Garcia, director of Academic Registration at Universidad del Rosario.
"With Analytikus we are working on the Academic Guide and analyzing where we can go with the academic projection portal to identify the interests of students with the use of new learning technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence," said Francisco Garcia.
In this way, Universidad del Rosario and Analytikus ratify their commitment to pedagogical innovation by creating a university graduate profile that is compatible with the demand of the labor market.
